“Food security in Ethiopia. Telling the stories behind the numbers.”

BrandOutLoud is driven by the desire to innovate and push the boundaries of visual, multimedia storytelling in which aesthetic and powerful imagery is the key for successful communication: Visualise to persuade.


"This series came into being as we travelled through Ethiopia. We were amazed by the people, their beauty and pride, as well as the landscape (both rough and pure). The country - with its inhabitants - truly felt like a land of opportunity to us," Judith Madigan, BrandOutLoud. 

From the images taken, some were used in a project from the Netherlands Embassy in Addis Ababa and their partners. Each story stands on its own and as a module that can be found in the online platform


The ambition for this project was to find a way to communicate openly about the work of the Netherlands Embassy in Addis Ababa and their project partners. These images were developed as part of the project. 

“At BrandOutLoud we were involved from the early stages in setting up a communication agenda. Questions we asked included: Why do you want to communicate and what is your message?" Judith Madigan, BrandOutLoud.

As part of this preliminary exercise BrandOutLoud developed an online platform, as well as the strategy, concept, photography, website, copy and social media content.
